We rely on donations and sometimes we are given items that we feel have significant importance to local history. When the local library does not want these items we made the decision to keep them safe for posterity. These archive items are not for sale, and never will be. Some of these items may be available through our other sources - please do contact us directly via email or telephone if you would like to request a search.

You can view these items in person by emailing the bookshop and arranging a time to come in. We're very sorry but our volunteers are unable to conduct research on your behalf or to take further pictures of the archive as it is securely stored. If you would like to hire one of our team to conduct further research long-distance please email the bookshop for the attention of our archivist - Dawn McLachlan - and she will help you find someone who can assist you.

If you would like to donate an item that you feel has local history importance, please make sure you contact Aberdeenshire Local Studies first. If they do not require the item, please contact us to discuss a donation.

In the gallery below you can click on the items and follow the profile link for larger pictures and for more details of the contents. The archive will update when new items are donated.
